bpi.recycled products backs FPA Environment Award

The sponsorship reflects bpi.recycled products’ own belief in providing more sustainable solutions as demonstrated by its Green Sack® range of refuse sacks. Not only are Green Sacks made from 100% recycled polythene waste, helping to divert waste from landfill and to conserve valuable resources, but they are also made from UK waste recycled at UK facilities.

As a result they have a carbon footprint up to a third lower than refuse sacks made from virgin materials and significantly lower than most other recycled refuse sacks, which are typically produced in the Far East – the waste being shipped there and recycled before the finished item is shipped back again.

Speaking of the awards sponsorship, Lorcan Mekitarian, Sales Director from bpi.recycled products, said: “As a business, bpi.recycled products is no stranger to awards success having recently picked up the title of Best Green Large Company at the 2010 Scottish Green Awards. As such, we’re only too happy to be involved in an initiative that recognises and rewards those with a similar commitment to the highest standards.”

The 2011 FPA awards will take place on the 10th March at the Midland Hotel Manchester.
